NO PICTURES, NO MUSIC, JUST CHECK THIS.

All Spillers should read Charlie Brooker's column today.

See, they get their ideas from us. I know they do.

All readers except those living abroad (sigh)

I still haven't quite got to grips with Spotify. It disappointed me on my obscure bands test, but reading that reminded me of how much I miss compilation tapes and made me think I should try it again. Thanks for drawing attention to it.

I read that Charlie Brooker piece. It made me think about putting a Spotify playlist together.

I managed about five seconds of each song.. I love my ear drums too much to put them through such abuse!

Good article as ever.

Hey sourpus, is Spotify not available in Hungary at all? Or are you just wary of joining tinny's merry band of pluckers?

Debby et al; Be careful what you say, walls have ears!

debbym, no spotify anywhere except the UK I think - same thing with BBC iPlayer. Probably for the same reason in both cases: advertising revenue issues. Either way, they represent two of the most important things lacking in my entertainment world. Bah!

no, apparently iPlayer works in Switzerland (at least for radio programmes), so it does work outside the UK sometimes, no idea why though!

Sourpus, we can get spotify in Germany, but not the free version. It costs just under a tenner (that's 10 Es, obviously) a month. I thought steen said she could access it, too?

I can access radio through iPlayer, and (for a while at least) I had access to TV as well - at work, when my office server was being routed through another country. Now though, to paraphrase his Blobness, things have changed I cant and would LOVE to! I so enjoyed it when I had access to it that I would actually try and watch whole shows from work without anyone noticing me using ear phones and a quicker-than-the eye mouse technique. Tricky, I can tell you. Thanks for all the info though guys.
