H2H - The Great Christmas Classic Face Off

Two Christmas classics going head to head..can you cope?

A vaguely military theme unites them, only three short years of actual time between them, but a million Christmas music albums later, they're both still around. Time to pick a winner.

Well seeing as the Jona Lewie song wasn't intended to be a Christmas release at first, Bing 'n' The Thin White Duke win here, as far as I am concerned.

Apparently Bing had no idea who Bowie was.

David was a bit of a jinx around then, wasn't he? First Bing shuffled off after recording this one with him and later Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed after playing on the Let's Dance album.

It's got to be Jona Lewie for me.

Got to agree with TB on this one. Its a great pop moment seeing Bing and the Dame hamming it up together, but Stop the Cavalry is a great lyric, a fine old-time tune and was a breath of fresh air in the Christmas tunes list.

Where's the "None Of The Above" button?

;o)

Merry Christmas, sourpus, and best wishes for the new album. Have your management approached the A&R dept at Spillharmonic Records yet?
