'Twas the night before Christmas...

...and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except for Mrs Frod who was beginning to throw out some pretty hefty curses during the early stages of labour.

It feels like a long time since I introduced you all to Squiggle (as he was known) and now, at last, I would like you all to meet Barnaby William Denham Sandford:

(Sideburns model's own)

He pitched up at just after 6 pm on Christmas Eve, by rather necessary C-Section (he was, after all, 10lb 6oz...) and is now home, happy and fully awesome. It made it all a rather odd festive season, but it has been the best one ever. Mini Frod is unbelievably happy with him and has been a model big sister. So far.

So as a result I've rather missed out on most of the end of year stuff, and the mighty Festive 'Spill (New Year's resolution: be better at 'Spilling) but it has all meant that, by a country mile, my song of the year is this:

10 Keeping Warm.mp3">

Happy Christmas to you all and wishing you a less tired New Year than mine looks like being!

Congratulations on the new arrival! May he bring you every happiness. Our first grandchild came along earlier this year and we are still on cloud nine!

SNADFROD - Flipping 'eck, he's a whopper! Hope he stays bigger than his mates all his life. Congrats.

Cheers folks, he really is a bit of a bruiser. Or 'milk fiend' as we also could call him. The size of him took everyone by surprise (there were actual gasps) but he's turning out to be amazingly good natured and placid so far. Wise, we reckon. Plus we get to feel altogether a bit more capable this time round so everyone's a winner!

Aye donds - its not something ive tried, but unqualified as I am, all the best to the Snads.

Lovely, congratulations to the Snadfrods, welcome Barnaby!

I forgot to say that I love the name barnaby, and I'm exceedingly impressed that he's staring adoringly at you because I think it takes most babies days and days to focus on anything at all

big big congratulations from the Japanthers too. What an amazing christmas present!

Yet more congrats to the Snapsprogs.

Clearly, the song of the moment should be something from They Might Be Giants!

(As a June baby, I feel sorry for Xmas babes - only one lot of gifts! Need to declare an 'Official Birthday' in the summer, like some other special people do.)

Congrats from Schloss Immel aswell. Christmas is going to be awkward from now on isn't it!

Footballer's legs! An early trial for Newcastle is well in order. I've put his name down and have great expectations for his left and right foot. Congratulations to the family Frod and little Barnaby who is a cracker!

Lovely lovely Barnaby...Well done to the snadfrod family from Treefrog Towers!

Thanks again to one and all, Barney is currently fast asleep whilst Mrs Frod and I prepare our much-delayed Christmas dinner...

GHE: we are definitely considering an 'official birthday', but also reckon that Eve is probably more fun than the day itself or the day after.

FP: sorry to the Magpies, but I've had a chat with Garry Cook and Barnaby is actually starting at centre back for City tonight. Just to give us a bit of physical presence, like.

Also, should just mention, the tune (if it works at all, what has become of Boxstr in my absence?) is by We Were Promised Jetpacks. Best band name of the year, no?

Gah, you ignore the Spill for a day or two and something great happens - many many congratulations and happy happy new year to you all.

Congratulations from the Yotanka Tipi too. We also have a son who was a very big baby - 10lb 12oz (I'm not being competitive ;) - especially as I only made the sandwiches, mopped the brow and changed the CDs. Of course we'd bought everything in new born sizes and I had to immediately rush out and get everything again in 3 month sizes. An omen of what was to come - he's cost a fortune ever since ... but worth every penny now we have our own 19 year old, wailing guitar wielding Rock God on tap.

Congratulations to all the Frods!

Congratulations family Frod. Barnaby/Barney is a superlative choice of name too, though you do have to get used to sharing it with several cartoon characters (of which the dinosaur is easily the most annoying).

Cracking tune, too!

Only just got round to catching up with the spill after a rather hectic Christmas, so rather belated congrats to the frod clan from me too. That's a big baby! He's bigger than Young Master Satan already, and he's 8 weeks old!
