I don't want to be left out of the duck issue so here's my bit. I collect bird pics on my desktop, this one came from image googling 'birds in flight': check it, there's a wonderful collection there.
I have a non goose question that doesn't fit any posts and doesn't warrant one of it's own. In today's Guardian there's a piece about the top 10 clubs in Sheffield; that's where I grew up but left in 1946. There's several groups mentioned who's names I've heard, my question is, are these all Sheffield groups? Arctic Monkeys, Human League, Jarvis Cocker, Def Leopard, Oasis, Coldplay, White Stripes and Stereophonics. If they are 'there's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear' We were never known as a hotbed of much else than muck and smoke!
I went to Uni in Sheffield during the Britpop years, and would occasionally go to the pub that the drummer from Pulp owned. During the 3 years I lived there, I saw approximately no Sheffield bands play live.

Don't get too excited, I 'm pretty sure Oasis, Coldplay, and White Stripes are not from Sheffield. The first 3 are though.
White Stripes are from DEE-TROIT
It's Def Leppard - and, yes, they're from Sheffield. Stereophonics, however, are from South Wales.

That is a beautiful picture.
Thank you all...
You can add Richard Hawley (formerly of The Longpigs) to the list of Sheffield acts and such luminaries as:
ABC
Heaven 17
Cabaret Voltaire
Babybird
One Thousand Violins
Thompson Twins
...and lots more listed on this Wikipedia page:
