I knew number 2, and number 7 looks very familiar, I'm sure I will kick myself when you reveal it. Did you ever do Gideon Coe's album cover quiz back in the days when he was on BBC 6Music in the daytime? Badly drawn versions in his case, it was fun.
It's horrible when you only know one, and it's already been got! yes, Catcher, Obscured by Clouds, surely... 5 looks awfully familiar, and 8 looks like it should be Kraftwerk, but isn't. Nice quiz idea, shame all my vinyl is in a lock up!
*kicks self in shin* of course 7 is obscured by clouds, also recognise number five as Cocteau Twins having thought about it (anyone else been enjoying Goldfrapp's take on Liz Frazer?). That 6Music quiz is back, hopefully here's a link
grrrr spiritualized easy (mine is the 3D packageing) 4AD stuff fine..can just make them out....but thought 11 was gary numan to start with but it so isnt and 8 looks like it should be easy..I love cover art me! I feel ashamed.
I knew 2 & 3 straight away, but reading the comments, I've also GOT 4 & 5, but simply didn't recognise them at that resolution and size. Is that deliberate, Carole, or can I do something about it?
My first contribution here for about 2 months - must get out & about more. No.11 is John Martyn's fab "Inside Out" - blimey, is it that obscure? Pretty sure I've never seen no.9 before. (Incidentally, I'd have got 8 artistes and 6 album titles right on first glance... what do I win for being a Johnny-Nomates smartarse? Two of the ones I _didn't_ get I actually own...!)

Well?
Don't keep it a secret, share it Blimpy!
2. is The Sundays "Reading, writing, and arithmetic"
3 is Spiritualized' "Let It Come Down"
12 is Ride's epic "Nowhere"
Yes Blimpy, three right.
I knew number 2 - I think it was the last vinyl I ever bought. Wonderful album. Otherwise zilch.
Is 1 Throwing Muses, The Real Ramona? 4 is Kristin Hersh, Hips And Makers, 5 is Cocteau Twins, Treasure. I think.

I think 7 is Pink Floyd, Obscured By Clouds?
Never heard of Gideon Coe's quiz, does sound like fun. Must try investigating.
If I don't find out what number 8 is soon I may have to kill myself - do you want that on your hands CaroleBristol?????
I knew number 2 and I suspect I should know number 12. I'm rubbish, me...

5 looks like "A Storm In Heaven" gone a wee bit wrong!

Evening all.
I knew 2 & 3 straight away, but reading the comments, I've also GOT 4 & 5, but simply didn't recognise them at that resolution and size. Is that deliberate, Carole, or can I do something about it?
6. Augustus Pablo - King Tubby meets Rockers Uptown (classic album!)
8. Traffic - On the road
10. ...a Robin Trower album, don't know which one...
Hi DsD, the size was deliberate, it kind of makes things tougher. It also cuts down the size of the file.
TonNL has 6 and 8 100% correct and is right about 10 being Robin Trower, maybe someone can get the title now?
So, now we are just looking for 9 and 11
The Robin Trower album is Bridge of Sighs
ToffeeBoy has it!
So, just the last two now.

Shiv is right, 11 is John Martyn's "Inside Out"
A clue for the last one, #9 - the band is one of my listed favourites.
If no one gets #9 by Monday evening, I'll tell you.

4 Kristin Hersh Hips And Makers
5 Cocteau Twins Treasure
6 Pink Floyd Obscured By Clouds
7 Augustus Pablo King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown
