Oh I had a MASSIVE soft spot for that album when it came out: definitely to be filed under Guilty Pleasures, and not to be mentioned at AC/DC & Motorhead gigs!

That haircut hasn't aged well, but I still love Pino Palladino's bass-playing.

Cheers & goodnight, steenbeck

WTF?! The Three Degr...oh. Oh, I *see*! I understand now.

:o)

If Ejay posted the three degrees "when will I see you again" then he has my utter respect. Frenchy - t'es trop jeune pour connaitre ça!!!! Fabulous song and donding the sentiment for DsD. Alltogethernow:
'Aaaaaaaah...Oooooooooh...
Precious Moments.....'
---
And donds for Steenbeck's Paul Young. Anyone seen the John Candy film 'trains, planes and automobiles?' God bless you, big guy.

Spot on about EJD's age, fp.

I'm beginning to wonder what the portrait of him in his attic must look like!

;o)

That's right! You think this handsome face came for free? No, no I had to make some deals with a few people. Remember the J. Edgar Hoover revelations?

I have seen Trains Planes & Automobiles, classic. And I've had my Philly Soul period...haven't we all?

Indeed - that's why I loved your GFK 'Back Like That'. It's Philly Soul with badass trainers on.

Favourite scene from Trains, Planes & Automobiles - at the Car Rental place in the airport:

Car Rental Agent: [cheerfully] Welcome to Marathon, may I help you?
Neal: Yes.
Car Rental Agent: How may I help you?
Neal: You can start by wiping that fucking dumb-ass smile off your rosey, fucking, cheeks! Then you can give me a fucking automobile: a fucking Datsun, a fucking Toyota, a fucking Mustang, a fucking Buick! Four fucking wheels and a seat!
Car Rental Agent: I really don't care for the way you're speaking to me.
Neal: And I really don't care for the way your company left me in the middle of fucking nowhere with fucking keys to a fucking car that isn't fucking there. And I really didn't care to fucking walk down a fucking highway and across a fucking runway to get back here to have you smile in my fucking face. I want a fucking car RIGHT FUCKING NOW!
Car Rental Agent: May I see your rental agreement?
Neal: I threw it away.
Car Rental Agent: Oh boy.
Neal: Oh boy, what?
Car Rental Agent: You're fucked!

Excellent!! My favourite line:
'THOSE. AREN'T. PILLOWS..!!!!'
or
'You're like a Chatty Cathy doll!! Yaaa! Yaaa! Yaaaaa!'
(I used to have one of those dolls)

I use TP&A as my Christmas film for lots of my (older) groups, as most kids haven't seen it. They LOVE that airport scene!

Ooooh quotes from the movies ...

One of my oft used favourites ...

"We fear change"

Seems apt for the turmoil of the last two Fridays. I got through by adopting an holistic approach; mind, body, spirits and Chrome plated Firefox.
"We change and adapt, better than no blog at all" ... could almost be a line from this song which I was thinking of for DsD ... here's more ...

"We know what you are and what you need.
Even if no one's told you yet.
We'll tell you what to buy and what to read ...
and in the end the things you get become the things you want."

First track on John Peacock's album 'Plucked', available official and gratis from here ...
