Greetings from Switzerland

Enjoying my holidays in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, where (at 2600 m above sea level) I met this super furry animal, staring philosophically in the distance....

Greetings from Kirkcudbright where, at sea level, were observed last week a pair of spoonbills...I did take a picture of one of them but if I didn't tell you what it was you wouldn't recognise it, so I won't bother to post it. (While I was creeping up on it most stealthily, a boat came along and it flew away.)

I'd love to know how you managed to get so close to it - or do you have particularly big equipment?

Oh come on, I was taking about his camera. Dear me....

@toffeeboy: I didn't come close to it, but it (don't know if it is a he or a she..) came close to me, first it inspected my camerabag for anything edible, after that it tried to take a bite of the shoelaces of my mountainboots, but the picture was taken with my Sigma 300mm lens in macro mode, which means I was about 1.5 meters away (...first time I used that macro mode on anything else than insects, butterflies or flowers btw...)

@ tonnl - thanks for that. It's a great shot - I'm just getting into photography (I bought a Canon Digital SLR 400 earlier this year) so I'm keen to get any tips and advice on lenses etc...
