Do you know how they inflate/deflate?

They're attached to the subway grate, and when a train goes by below, it sends gusts of air up through the grate, inflating the sculptures. Then as the train passes along they deflate again, until another train goes by. And thanks, I will take a look at your music blog.

Very ingenious, the same principle that blew Marylin's skirt up. The dog must inflate through it's feet.
