So that's what Zeph sounds like, I've read about him for years, ever since I became interested in dub poetry but I'd never heard him. I assume he must have a body of his own work?
M Ward was new, I liked that piece particularly the backing towards the end, any others by him recommended?

watch this on youtube

m.wards 'requiem'
beautiful words and video
the cds 'post war' and 'transistor radio' are both wonderful.
there's a bunch to watch with the above.

Zephaniahs album 'naked' is great in my opinion, have a large collection of his books.
'Rong Radio' got me my most donds for radio RR.

this is a remix by Rodney P.
BUT Dorian interviewed him and they didn't get on (I think!) so he didn't get in the play list...

I'd forgotten that astonishing M.Ward track, so thanks for reminding me.

Love that track by fellow vegan Mr Z...

I haven't had time to listen to the music because of business and sickness, but I love the picture. Yours? I like the graininess and the colors of the background. Beautiful AND funny.

hey ya steenbeck
hope your starting to feel better.
nope..not my picture
it's out of a book called the getaway that we got from the library for the little un...trying to get him to sleep I read this bit and laughed too much and perked him up again.
It is a good use of photo backgrounds and cartoon illustration..the colour is lush on the weathered door.

Saneshane, I wonder if you'd be interested in this... Now Here This . It's an online gallery in which people make art at the same time (although it's become quite flexible, just has to be within a week.) I've seen sketches, photos, collages, I do digital video, I've even seen a poem. I think your photos/drawings would..I don't know what the right word is...Fit? work? It's based out of NYC and every once in a while they'll have shows there. The "curator" is a very nice and generous fellow. I like it because it keeps me thinking about creating something over the weeks and gives me a way to share it. (anyone else that might be interested, feel free to take a look)

Shane: I watched the Requiem video plus several more and then googled him and found quite a bit more at his website, I'm beginning to comprehend the term 'ear worm'. Thanks.
He's appearing in SF next month with Zoooey......

Thanks sane - strangely, I bought my first ever pkt of silken tofu last week and it's just awaiting a decent recipe - this looks like the one!

Cheers

Just checked youtube for Zeph. Lots there. I saw Rong Radio plus several more, including this Dis Poetry. Do you know Mutabaruka? He's got one called Dis Poem, very similar, you should check it at:

There's another there worth checking, it's 'It no good....'

I was right in front of him when that was shot, it's Sunsplash '82.
