Sitting here tonight with beer listening to all those great songs. I was only a fan since the very early 90's, but I can remember when I first heard them like it was yesterday. They were a massive influence..Struggling to say more. V sad indeed.

Like probably a lot of people my age, I only got into Big Star through Teenage Fanclub, and was lucky enough to see them play some years ago. 'Third/Sister Lovers' is still one of my favourite albums, as is The Cramps' 'Off The Bone', which Chilton produced. I guess we're all just getting older, and seeing the generation we grew up admiring begin to leave.
