Two songs I like

Essie Jain - Glory
Don't know anything about her, found this song on the free cd with German magazine Spex, like it a lot....

Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks - Gardenia
From his latest, fine album "Real Emotional Trash", brilliant lyrics, could have been a great Pavement song.....

Essie Jain is English but based in New York. I've seen her twice in the last few weeks and she has an album coming out fairly soon.

There'll be a Pavement reunion LP and tour in 2009, mark my words....

HI ALL, WE GOT A NICE EMAIL FROM ESSIE JAIN'S RECORD LABEL:

Hello,

I was reading your blog and saw you'd recently posted a track from Essie Jain's debut album and thought you'd like know about her new record. She's on Leaf in the U.K. and coming out on BaDaBing! Records stateside.

Essie Jain - The Inbetween - Essie Jain's second album is a revelation in it's seeming ease. Sparse but lush orchestration backs up beautifully arranged ballads, with Essie's honey-with-a-touch-of-dirt voice singing over it all. Listen to "Eavesdrop" -the first song, and if you don't feel the sweep of emotion, then maybe you're not alive.

If you'd like me to send you an mp3 of her new song, "You", let me know.

Thanks!

didn't really grab me when I listened, but after that (E-Mail) if they want me to listen to 'You' I'm willing to be converted.
How amazingly sensible...I'm now listening again to this post...so job well done.
(have some leaf is ten stuff..interesting label..)

Keep on like that and you'll have many converts..well pitched me thinks.
