It looks like the Tories have reached that critical political tipping point - where they can field a goat as a candidate and still win.
GB must be regretting not having had a general election last autumn, lost it, and let the Tories run a recession (again). Then in 2012 Labour could have run on a 'good old days' ticket. Now it looks like they'll be out of office for a decade, when they do finally call a general in 2010.
Now then, how much is a villa in Spain these days...or perhaps I could set up as a plumber in Warsaw.
I'm still shaking my head in disbelief - the man is a complete idiot. I could almost understand them electing a dangerous right-wing zealot - but Boris is just a joke. Utter madness...
I was going to suggest a poll for the most appropriate song to mark the occasion: True Blue, Run to the Hills or Leaving (the country) On A Jet Plane. Suspect the result is a bit of a foregone conclusion - which is interesting, since the Grauniad's main comment page has been packed with people denouncing Ken and calling for the election of Boris. Confirms long-standing suspicion that Readers Recommend is the heart of the true Grauniad readership whereas Comment Is Free has been subverted by a bunch of Daily Mail readers.
