"Words! Words! Words!" Lyrics Quiz I

I'm keeping out of the sun for now. It's extremely hot but there's a nice wind getting up so I'll let the heat die down a little and then get the bike out. That's pedal not motor. We've had very enjoyable intro quizzes, and excellent sleeve art quizzes, both of which will no doubt continue. I have had crap scores at all of them and so thought I'd do my own quiz where I'm sure to get ten right - cunning, eh? We're all gaga about the music, grooves, beats and rhythms, but there are some lyrics that are just so jaw-dropppingly brilliant that you wish you'd penned them yourself. My favourite bands or singers tend to be great lyricists too, so I think the words mean almost as much to me as the music.
See if you can spot this ten. Warning! There's one you practically can't get unless you cheat and Google it. I'll be very surprised if anyone gets it anyway. It's just a thinly veiled excuse to introduce you to one of the greatest little known songs I've heard this year...I'll post the juke box when you've got them all. Bar one.
Here's your starter for ten...
1. "It's so erotic when your make-up runs"
2. "A ram sam sam, a ram sam sam Guli guli guli guli ram sam sam"
3. "We sank down to the floor and sang a song that I can' sing anymore"
4. "September, Earth, wind and fire, Hot pants by James, Sly's gonna take you higher"
5. "Nobody knows it but you've got a secret smile and you use it only for me"
6. "Don't become a ghost with no colour ‘cause you're the best paint life ever made"
7. "Take a trip to Acapulco, we are flying down to Rio!"
8. "He's dressed in the striped pyjamas that I bought, trousers too short..."
9. "Life's no cruise with a cool chick, too many folks feeling car sick, but it never pulls in"
10. "Maybe he doesn't love me... I just took a trip on my love for him...."
and the bonus track if you thought that was waaaay too easy...
11. "You had roses lime, mixed with vodka, I had wine...."
---
And here's the jukebox - you got them all but one - BRILLIANT!!

The song I've been raving about it U-Turn (Lili) by AaRON. They are French but sing in English. This knocked my socks off the first time I heard it. See if it does the same for you. Donds for Saneshane for spotting this one thanks to some canny texting!!

Well, number 9 is the prefab-ulous (geddit?) Cars and Girls.

And ToffeeGirl got number 10 - Kate Bush's The Man With The Child In His eyes.

Just found out what number 11 is (after Googling, so I won't 'Spill/spoil it). One of my all time favourite songs (of all time, pop-pickers) - and I never realised that's what it said.

got a cover by 'chicks on speed' too, (wordy rappinghood)
...someone put lili(?) on a comp too but I've no details (6) so cant claim that..i'm now guessing it isn't called lili either cos I can't find any info...ummm?????

Nice one Toffee - it's also one of my favourite ever songs - and not a Decker in sight!!! That first album of theirs is pure joy. Saneshane I salute you. You got the ungettable, man!!! Thought that song was strictly French release only - they're French but sing in English. Shall post the complete list when you've all cleaned up - and now there's no reason not to!

I know who performs no.4: he's what you get after a collision between a red and a blue paint truck. I've looked up the title, so can't claim it.
(The only other one I knew for sure was... what's her name, Bry?)

Indeed that is the Wee One. And he IS on Deezer. Of topical interest...Bravo for Aaron. It's a blinder. As you shall hear.
