Hitler had Oasis tickets

Yes, it's yet another Downfall mashup, but it's the funniest one I've seen since the Comic Sans one.

So, the big question for 'Spillers is: Which was better, Oasis or Saxon?

Saxon, obviously, precisely because they never believed for a moment that they were the future of rock'n'roll.

Slightly worried that I'm now not going to be able to take this great film and superb performance entirely seriously ever again...

Saxon, for exactly the same reason. Plus they inspired Spinal Tap!
Oasis thought they were the new Beatles. They were more like the New Slade. Without the humour. Or Dave Hill.

I quite like these Downfall mash-ups but the fact that I've seen the original a few times already, I've read the historical books about that period and that I understand German means I can only half 'misunderstand' it, if you get what I mean.

Oh, and Saxon never made me fork out good money for 'Be Here Now'!

I'd only seen the Arsenal-Tottenham one, but this funny all the way through
"Have you tried Kasabian?"

Oops, wrong post.

Admit that any knowledge of German (even if only from Commando comics) does make it harder to suspend disbelief. Still smirked a lot though.

Not familiar with the music of either group, being stuck in the 60s and 70s, but the video was hilarious.

It's still funny even if you understand what he's saying. Mention in passsing that this is a towering performance from Bruno Ganz. He nailed it...

Bruno Ganz is a BRILLIANT actor , quite right FP , closely followed by Daniel Bruehl, Til Schweiger (both 'Inglorieoiues batsrfagstsdrdsds' - the fillum that is, not as people) and Moritz Bleibtreu.
Saxon - were they one of the cock-rock bands? Or Hair-vy Metal?
Still better than those gobby Man City fans masquerading as musicians though...

Is it OK to fancy Til Schweiger and Daniel Bruehl? I fancy Bruno Ganz in Himmel ueber Berlin but not in Downfall. Make sense? But the mosst fanciable of all is that Thomas Kretschmann bloke. Phwaooorrrggggggghhh. He was in Valkyrie.

And the guy from Das Leben der Anderen. A veritable surfeit of photogenic Cherman actors around at the moment. So Uncle quentin can make another war film if he wants!!!

Which one in Das Leben der Anderen? The brilliant Ulrich Muehe is dead, much too young, but if he's the one you mean, it's definitely worth checking out the TV series Der Letzte Zeuge, a rip-off of Silent Witness with Muehe as a pathologist, but much much better because of the quality of the script and acting. If German dvd sets of TV series weren't so insanely expensive I would have bought up the lots years ago, rather than having to search the listings for Arte and the like in hope of finding more repeats...

Abend Herr Hach!! ARTE - now yer talking. Now there's a splendid TV channel. They've just bought the Tudors so I'll be able to Phwoooaaarrgh all over Jonty Rhys-Meyers in tights. No I'm not talking about sadly departed Ulrich Muehe who was astonishing in Das Leben der Anderen, but the actor who plays the playwrite partner of the actress who dies. He's a bit easy on the eye. Hang on a mo....Sebastian Koch

Scrummy....

Noy really my type, but I see what you mean. How about Christian Tramitz in Der Schuh des Manitu - or indeed Sky du Mont?
