I'm still betting that anonymous is Damo Suzuki. The attention to vitamins is a...er...dead giveaway.
Anyway. I thought we started off fairly turgidly (have you heard Glasgow's 'Rico'? Reminded me of that for some reason. Quite industrial, whatever that means.)
7 Nation/ PE mash up was great fun though and Hypnotized was nicely bonkers. Preferred leftovers from truth post. Psyche rock - the wild thing feat. chimes/tubular bells? Love the true confessional too (you stole amplifiers?) Who does the guitars after that? More than 32 burglaries here methinks.

Now feel like revisiting some Mussolini Headkick and MC 900 Ft Jesus.

Ty for listening PF, but I think the leftovers you preferred were from Shane's very fine list down below.

Oops, missed your question Mr. P (In a rush this morning). Don't know Rico, but if they do "turge" you can probably count me in. Will chek 'em out.

Shoey - whose is the Taxcider song?

DarceysDad said...

No, scratch that question. Right clicking it into me mp3s gave me Keith LeBlanc's name.

Ta muchly.

Hey Darce, glad you like that one - was a Tackhead live fave back in the day.

Thank YOU Shoey. I already have the Scritti Politti, but those two were the only ones I liked really.

I've been staying well out of this hip-hop discussion, as I know about as much on this subject as I do on Thermodynamics or Mongolian Dialects.

Time for bed.

Ah, but if you like Tackhead who were the original "Sugarhill Gang" that played as house musicians on all those early rap records (Rappers Delight (ugh), The Message, White Lines etc.) you may know more than you know you know. Unless you knew that, of course?

I went to a late 80s (Gary Clail era) Tackhead gig by accident! I can't remember what I thought it was instead, but it's proof you can learn from your mistakes.
The Rico album I was (loosely) reminded of was called Sanctuary Medicine. Late 90s.

Think that Gary is running a pub in the West Country. Tackhead are still going - currently working on a self-financed album. They all contributed to last year's Chess remix album & are playing live again. Doug Wimbish is coming to O-Town next week with Living Color - still working on a way to skive off work to catch the free gig at the free show at the local record shop before the main event at House of Blues.
