Ahhh. The year my parents were married. Without which, there would probably have been no me. Great music!
this is a great idea for a spill project EJD! Blind Willie and Nat King Cole are my favourites so far, looking forward to 1949...
Just took a moment out to listen to these and now feel completely refreshed. Thank you, ejay!
Thanks folks, I may have made trouble for myself by matching the amount of songs to the number of the decade, 1969 is going to be very difficult.
And what makes my head go round and round while my heart just stands still so much?lovely selection. What is that instrument on Moon Song? And it went right into "Orchestre Antillais, which gets better with every listen.Nice pic, too.
If you need help with '69, just shout.. I think half of my collection is from that year..
Ain't nuthin' but piano, gueetar and bass, Steenbeck.Nilpferd, that's my problem actually, too much good stuff! I've already made the hard decision to avoid the obvious jazz candidates for 1959 (KOB, Ah Um, Time Out, Shape of Jazz).
I was afraid you'd say that, Ejay...
That one guitar (played by Oscar Moore) does sound more like 3 played at the same time, if that's what you meant.
Yeah, I guess that's what I meant. I don't know, I thought for a moment there was some kind of harp. Or that they were plucking moonbeams. It's really lovely, though.
No wait, I meant the piano. It's all extra glowy.
@ ejd - what's the picture? It's fantastic!
The picture is by Irving Penn, who died not too long ago.
Yeah it is a great and nice article looking forward to have such article it is so useful.
