I'd like to toss a quickie into the pot, my local cinema has finally shown Coppola's latest, "Youth without Youth": I saw it yesterday. Such a complex yet interesting and courageous film, I, an unashamed Coppola fan all my life, have mixed feelings ranging from awe, admiration and confusion. Who's seen it and what are your reactions? The title made me think also of another film, one that I thought was superb, the Italian film "Best of Youth": six hours of great film making, anyone remember that one? Anyhow, my movie/DVD tip for the week is to see either or both of these films.
There's plenty of comments re. both at:

Is that photo Ricky Tomlinson is his hippy phase :-)
No that's Francie when I knew him.
My apologies if that sounded blunt, I wrongly assumed that everyone knew what he looked like in 1970, sorry, my mistake.
ps Who's' Ricky Tomlinson?
There we go with that generation gap thing again.
He's a British actor, former trade-union activist, who's worked with Ken Loach (eg 'Raining Stones')but is probably best known for playing the father in 'The Royle Family'.
He sounds like my sorta bloke, if he's TU and mate of Loach I should know more about him, we miss so much out here.
That Ricky Tomlinson comment is the funniest thing I've read all week. Keep 'em coming
