Me, I'm mostly hearing the song "The Sparrow Looks Up At The Machine", the second track from the Flaming Lips excellent freak-out of a new double album.
Quite loud too, it seems, as I typed this my mother in law was banging on my front door - me oblivious until Mrs McF came and yelled at me!
You?

Just A Song At Twilight - background music to Andrew Marr's new history programme.
"Night Comes In" - Richard Thompson, (courtesy of tfd)
I am watching Andrew Marr too.
Legos clicking, (we're building a giant city with ALL of our legos at once! We have millions!!) Malcolm complaining because it was my idea to build a giant lego city, and the Arctic Monkeys because I asked the boys what they wanted to hear and they ALWAYS say the arctic Monkeys.
Malcolm just said "How can I get Mommy's Butt over here?"
ooooh Steen - you must have some ace stuff planned for halloween?
DJ FOOD - strange taste
I've tried to get as much ninja Tunes on my computer as possible today while doing paper work - and resisting the temptation to look at 'spill.
White Stripes - Ball and Biscuit. Thanks, Shoey, for reminding me of this.
Mrs Yotanka playing Frumps Frangipane's 'Do You Want To' on her terrible tinny laptop ... Aart skool boys making some, err ... noise.
My step son's Game Boy and something on the TV. Both driving me nuts.
Ms EjD is playing the Hills on the laptop. Apparently Spencer doesn't think a little boy called Enzo is cute.
Regret to report that it's Bon Jovi - Dead or Alive. Have to admit that I've heard worse - think my brain has been washed by DsD's rockist offerings. Now it's the Cars - Just What I Needed. Was that a solo? So it was. Bugger.
I'm hearing Live At The Apollo from downstairs. In my head, I'm hearing Will They Miss Me by David Simmons - my head is full of the joys of Northern Soul ce soir...
Mnemonic. YVW.
Now it's a dreadful version of Walking on the Moon, with all the reggae surgically removed. Hope the band comes on soon.
Hey Blimpy - that's not the same picture I got in the email...what's going on?
Carole Bristol has saved me, I'm now listening to Gong on earphones.
@tfd - i swapped the piccy after i realised it was far too big for my wee posting.
i'm liking the answers, it's kinda like a collective live 'spiller-feed thang.
"Pandy Fackler" - Ween
@BVS - awesome song title!!
Bruises by Chairlift. I've just got back from seeing them live. They were absolutely terrible but the single is cute.
iTunes in shuffle mode:
Sloan - Another way I could do it
...just finishes, now starting:
Steinski - I'm wild about that thing
As I sat down I was thinking of tfd's RT post and so I've just been playing his Calvary Cross in my head, with an aggregation of the way he plays. But I was just noodling (in my noodle), by comparison.
the House of Love - I don't know why I love you
Now the boys are in bed, I'm listening to Nina Simone Take Me To the Water, and I just listened to CYHSY Underwater (you and me). That's right, I'm listening to water songs. Just heard Tread Water, too. And now it's I likes to do it, by The People's Choice, as sampled in Tread Water.
Halloween in my town is OFF THE HOOK! I'll take some pictures. It's a town full of artists so the halloween decorations are insane , and it's a small city surrounded by rural communities without sidewalks, so everybody comes here to trick-or-treat. Plus, everyone in this town uses any excuse to drink, so there are any number of places to stop with your little ones and get some libations. Do people trick-or-treat in England these days? They didn't when I was little.
Now Water by the Roots.
Malcolm is going to be King Malcolm II of Scotland.
I'll just toss this in as a cautionary tale, not trying to spoil the party or anything.
I'm listening to the freezer running in the next room and that eternal steam pipe hissing. The steam pipe hiss is always there, it's tinnitus, caused by a lifetime of standing in front of those huge speakers that are always at the side of the stage.
A tip, wear earplugs or stand/sit further back.
I usually listen to music on headphones which over-rides the hiss.
Donds for HOL
I'm listening to the sound of my computer, nothing else, but I can also here tessimmel moving about in her bed in the next room. That means she'll soon be up and wandering into here to play her 7" vinyls on my turntable (it looks like the next one in the queue is 'The Sun Always Shines On TV' by Aha - I got a job lot in a local charity shop a couple of years ago without really worrying about the quality). Then it'll be off down for breakfast at about 7.30PM (school holidays this week so we're relaxed about timings).
Mogwai, Glasgow Mega-Snake. Soothing background music for writing lectures on Roman demography.
Sadly, a boring work phone call with about 20 people chiming in about various things that don't affect me.
It's kind of relaxing - browse the web, zone out, and it just kind of blurs into a big Mid-West US drawl. The words aren't important, the voices sound soothing.
Still, it's not music though.
i've got the news on telly (it's in Japanese of course) but when they have an explanatory montage they play some cool beats, kinda Ninja Tune-ish, in the background.
Last tune on the iPod before I walked in the door was Cornershop "Butter The Soul". My favourite tune of theirs.
her terrible tinny laptop????????????????????????????????????????
*gasps
*sputters
Oh no, it couldn't be a terrible blimpy laptop, could it? Or a terrible toffee laptop? Anyone! You coulda picked anyone! And you picked .... I'm just going to have to write that in my terrible tatanka journal.
The steam pipe hiss is always there, it's tinnitus,
oh oh oh, you guys really do take the piss when i'm not looking don't you. I don't know if i want to read anymore, but I shall. Oh I shall. And I shall take copiate notes too
