I'm not sure this is real, but I like the idea.

Dali did do an animation with Disney - not clicked on it yet but we saw at at the Tate Dali and the movies exhibition a couple years ago which was marvellous. Spill points going for the Hitchcock film for which Dali designed the dream sequence...

Next to Duck Amuck, it's probably the best Warner's cartoon.
*sigh* They ain't makin' them like that any more.

Well, actually they are, but it just seemed to be the right thing to say under the circumstances..

Though I only knew that because of flicking through my copy of Hitchcock at Work a couple of weeks ago, to read about Notorious for CJ..

You still got em. It's full of eyes and instantly recognisible as Dali. Very disturbing. I love his work, have to say. That animation's wonderful too. Blew me away when I first saw it.

I think the Dali which had the greatest effect on me was the crucifixion scene Christ of St John of the Cross, at Kelvingrove in Glasgow. There were also some nice ones in a numbers themed exhibition at the Staatsgalerie here in Stuttgart about a decade ago.

The one that got me was just a miniature. Don't even know the title. It was at the Beaubourg. It was a desert skyline with sand and sun. With just a hint of a white arab village suggested on the horizon with tiny tiny intricate brush strokes. Off to whizz around and see if I can find it. Frogprince likesss all the stuff he did around Gala. Oh God just remembered I got my hand stuck in a Dali at the Charlottenburg. True. It was the sculpture of the lady with the drawers in her body and for some reason they had it at the beginning of the exhibition outside. I findly hope it wasn't genuine. I opened ome of the drawers and put my hand in. Tried to open a bit wider and couldn't so pushed it a bit. It went in - on my hand - and I was trapped. Had to keep cool and gently rattle it open again. I must have looked a real prat with my hand stuck. Have to admit I like the lobster telephone as well.
